Want to feel even better about using Lyft for a responsible ride in Athens? Starting today, Lyft will donate $1 from every ride beginning or ending at Creature Comforts to its annual Get Comfortable campaign, which helps to resource the agencies meeting the community’s most pressing needs.
Lyft will donate $1 for any pick-up or drop-off at Creature Comforts’ downtown taproom (located at 271 W. Hancock). This new community-based partnership will extend throughout 2018.
“Anyone who’s ever gotten their hands on a Tropicália knows that Creature Comforts makes amazing beer, but they’re also doing a lot of important work for their home city,” said Sam Bond, General Manager of Lyft’s southeast operations. “Contributing to the Get Comfortable program is a great way for Lyft to help those in need who live in one of Georgia’s favorite cities.”
In Athens-Clarke County, one in five people is food-insecure and the poverty rate doubles that of the surrounding state. To learn more about the program and partners, simply visit the Get Comfortable homepage.
“We are incredibly grateful that Lyft has stepped up to join our 2018 business partners in what we think will be a significant year in serving the Athens community,” said Matt Stevens, Creature Comforts’ Director of Community & Culture. “Paired with our desire for people to drink and travel responsibly, we thought this was a perfect fit.”
Lyft was founded in June 2012 by Logan Green and John Zimmer to improve people’s lives with the world’s best transportation. Lyft is the fastest growing rideshare company in the U.S. and is available to 95 percent of the US population as well as in Ontario, Canada. Lyft is preferred by drivers and passengers for its safe and friendly experience, and its commitment to effecting positive change for the future of our cities.
