The Brew For One initiative, therefore, selects a new deserving recipient—then we come alongside this individual to learn their story, raise some money, and invest in their future.
Brew For One began in 2017 with the tragic passing of our beloved cellarman, Bob Weckback. To memorialize Bob, we released a beer in his honor the following year named the Cellarman’s Spirit. All profits from that original release went to seed a college fund for Bob’s son. And ever since, we work to honor Bob’s generous legacy by brewing a beer in support of another deserving recipient.
This year, we’re locking arms with two local nonprofits, both of whom brought to us the same story of resilience. While we can’t share too much about the recipient right now—it’s a secret!—what we can say is that this single mother has walked through a great deal of hardship in search of stability, and we can’t wait to help her go further faster through our Brew For One fundraising. We hope you’ll track with us on social media between now and the end of June to learn who YOU are serving through your purchase today.
“Whereas we promote the importance of investing in community-wide solutions through programs like Get Comfortable, we also value the power of a personal story. We hope the Brew For One initiative not only spotlights a remarkable individual and helps to meet some specific needs, but also that it inspires others to do likewise. To do for one what they wish they could do for everyone.” said VP of Strategic Impact, Matt Stevens.
The Brew For One 2021 release is a 7% ABV single-hopped IPA highlighting Idaho 7 which gives the beer an aroma and flavor bursting with juicy tropical, stone fruit, and pine notes. The beer will be available in 4-pack 16-ounce cans from the brewery’s tasting room starting on May 7th.
